Health Minister Mandaviya emphasizes on 'Ensuring best regulatory mechanisms critical for future of Indian Pharma sector'

To ensure the expansion of the pharmaceutical business, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilizers, underlined the necessity for strong and compassionate regulatory procedures.

 

At the two-day "Chintan Shivir" on "Drugs: Quality Regulations & Enforcement," he said “Such regulation is possible only when the Central and State agencies work in a spirit of cooperative federalism, build on the strengths of one another and work jointly to remove loopholes in the regulatory systems.” It is a forum for participants in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries to discuss strategies for developing cohesive and synergistic methods to constructing strong and durable regulatory systems.

 

The Union Minister asked all interested parties to cooperate in order to guarantee that pharmaceuticals produced in the nation and used by local and foreign consumers are of the highest quality and follow accepted worldwide manufacturing standards. As a result, consumers will receive products of the greatest quality and Indias reputation as the "Pharmacy of the World" would be upheld.

 

He urged the participants to contribute their expertise and field-level insights to the talks. Several eminent ministers, senior personnel from different pharmaceutical universities, Central Drug Labs, ICMR, and Drug Regulators from various States/UTs attended the two day conference.
